star of texas bowl

This past weekend I went to the Star of Texas Bowl. It was a derby bowl featuring some of the best teams in the states: Windy City, Gotham, Bay Area, and the Texies. I probably shouldn’t have taken two days off from prepping for Renegade Craft Fair, L.A. and the re-branding of Robo Roku, but it was worth it. I was in a exhibit hall full of derby friends from Austin, San Antonio, Spindle-top, Houston, and some really amazing players. I had great “seats” (I was sitting track side on the floor), the view allowed me to observe some fabulous strategic playing. I’m totally a visual learner, so getting that kind of view helped me learn a lot. I don’t like to take pictures of things I really want to see, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get pics of the bouts. I’ll upload all the pics to my Flickr when I get back home from L.A.
