a tribute to ray harryhausen

This week the animation and special effects world lost a pioneer, Ray Harryhausen. He was an innovator in the field that inspired so many working in the film industry today. If you’re not familiar with the name you will probably be familiar with some of his work that included films like Mighty Joe Young Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans. This week I thought we could pay tribute with a little video of the characters and effects he created.

I think my favorite will always be Bubo from Clash of The Titans. He’s just so cute!

music monday: kaiser cartel

I’m still listening to my Kaiser Cartel station on Pandora. I can’t help it. It’s just so full of nice pretty music that makes a great backdrop for working. This song has a sweet and cute video that fits it perfectly. You know I have a weakness for things that are cute.

a spirit of surprise

I’m back again with another fun stop motion to share with you.  I found this one a while ago but it remains one of my favorites.  As someone who loves to work with felt and make cute characters, this animation was right up my alley.

This is a commercial made for T-Systems.  The idea of the video is to illustrate that T-Systems is a part of every community.  The video starts in the country and then moves into a village and then a town and finally a big city.  I love that they used such a simple way to share the company’s goal.
